Meditation brings wisdom; lack of meditation leaves ignorance. Know well what leads you forward and what hold you back, and choose the path that leads to wisdom. ~Buddha
A while back I decided to start meditating in a more “professional” and disciplined way and I came up with this idea of doing my own version of a 21-day meditation challenge, and guess what?
This Sunday evening my 21-day meditation challenge will be over. Yaaay!
Why 21 days? Well, apparently that’s all it takes for you to build a new habit 🙂
Once I knew I was serious about the meditation challenge idea, I decided to look for 2 meditation tracks that I would fall in love with and stick to them all the way till the end.
I knew I wanted to meditate both in the morning and evening for at least 20 to 30 minutes so I decided to have a serious conversation with my Self 🙂
Of course, I talk to myself. Sometimes I need expert advice. ~Unknown
You need some discipline missy. You being all spontaneous and doing things whenever you please can’t always work, so I need you to cooperate with me.
I know you already meditate but you do it quite randomly. I’ve also noticed that you’re not always 100% present in the practice and as a result, you lost control over your thoughts and your mind is in need of some deep cleansing. We need to purify your thoughts, your mind, and your life. Are you ready? Let’s have some fun! 🙂
Well, my Self was right…
21 Day Meditation Challenge with My Favorite App
I first started meditating a few years ago and even though it seemed like an impossible thing to do (I could not stand still for more than 1 minute), as time went by I got better and better at it.
After years of practice, even though it was not a continuous process (it was on and off), I became a lot more peaceful, calmer and more relaxed. Before I used to be like I a little kid on a sugar rush and of course, this hyper kid still exists but he is no longer as active as it used to be
Also, I am happy to say that I now have a lot more control over the thoughts that run through my mind. Actually, who am I kidding? Before I had no control over my thoughts whatsoever. In fact, I didn’t even consider that possibility.
I used to believe that your thoughts were not something you could control but now I know better.
Anyway, I wanted to share with you, my experience and to also tell you about this amazing meditation app without which I don’t know if I would’ve managed to complete this challenge as fast as I did.
The app is called Omvana and was launched recently by Mindvalley, the company I work for 🙂
The beautiful thing about this app is that it allows you to choose from hundreds and hundreds of personal growth tracks, songs, and ambient sounds. It allows you to mix the guided meditations with your favorite music or sounds and have a really incredible experience.
Another thing I love about Omvana is the fact that you can actually record your meditation or affirmations with your voice and mix it with any background sound. How awesome is that?
You can now record your favorite blog post from Purpose Fairy as a speech and listen to it on your iPhone. By doing so you would no longer need to print the article, something which could also be convenient for you.
For my challenge, I chose the 6 Phase Meditation by Vishen Lakhiani and mixed it with Mark Waldman’s Placidity Sound 1 (binaural beats) as a morning meditation, and for the evening I chose Shift Your Paradigm by Bob Proctor and mixed it with Mark Waldman’s Placidity Sound 2 (binaural beats).
You might have different tastes or different needs, but for me, this is basically how I got to Heaven every morning and every evening 🙂
I wish I could describe to you how good it feels to cleanse yourself first thing in the morning and before you go to bed with these meditations but I can’ since what you feel is beyond words.
It kind of feels like you are traveling somewhere outside this world, in a heavenly place that is only yours and from where you come back feeling refreshed and rejuvenated and always with a big smile on your face!
With an open heart I can say that right now Omvana is my favorite meditation app. I don’t even see it as an app, I see it as a vehicle that transports you to Heaaaaaven 🙂
While reading the reviews ( 95% of those who reviewed it gave Omvana a 5 stars rating), I understood that it wasn’t just me who fell in love with this app but many others as well.
Among the reviewers was somebody who said that his wife gave birth while listening to Omvana. What a happy and lucky litte baby 🙂
You see, meditation is not just for monks and hippies, meditation is for everyone. It’s not just the outer body that needs to be showered and cleansed ever day but also the inner body.
All the tension, stress, anxiety and all the negativity we accumulate throughout the day needs to be washed away somehow and meditation can help you do just that and it’s really helpful to have such a beautiful and easy to use meditation app like Omvana.
Remember, as within so without.
If you want to improve the quality of your life and if you want to make the outside look a lot more vibrant, healthier and richer, work on purifying and cleansing the inside first and then sit back and watch your whole life being transformed. This is pretty much how it works for me and it’s quite fun.
Download this app on your Iphone or I-Pad (if you have one), see how you like it and who knows, maybe create your own 21 day meditation challenge 🙂
Starting tomorrow I will meditate for 1 hour in the morning and one hour before I go to bed, again for 21 days. Will see how that goes. Wish me luck 🙂
