This is the continuation from one of the topics I talked about in an earlier post called 15 Things You Should Give Up To Be Happy. And as I mentioned before, because of the many requests I got, asking to go deeper into each section, I decided to do just that.
When you are a control freak, the need for control is often more powerful than you are. And if you think that you need to control everything that happens to you and all around you, and mostly if you think that you CAN control everything, then you are doomed to a very stressful life.
Things happen, and a lot of times, things that are not so pleasant, things that we will not be able to control. People will act in ways that we don’t always agree, unpleasant events will take place, etc., and that is perfectly fine.
Us trying to control all of these things, stressing about it and spending a lot of time, energy and effort into understanding it, into trying to “correct” and change it, will only create even more stress in our lives…
Just allow things to be as they are, allow people to act the way they act without labeling everything and without trying to control everything, acknowledging that this will only make things even worse, remembering that What You Resist, Persists!
Have you ever tried to just give up your resistance and see how that makes you feel? Why won’t you just give it a go it with something that really irritates you, with something that you are really eager to change and correct? See what happens when you work with it instead of working against it.
Know that it is okay to just observe events and situation without always feeling the need to change reality, and of course, when I say that you should give up the need for control, I don’t mean that you should just sit with your arm crossed and do nothing, but rather to accept reality as it is and if there is anything that can be improved to do so, but without fighting it.
Learn How To Ho with the Flow of Life, not against it, and just notice how much easier your life will become. Always go with the flow, always, and remember the words of this wise man whenever you feel the need to go a little bit crazy:
It makes no sense to worry about things you have no control over because there’s nothing you can do about them, and why worry about things you do control? The activity of worrying keeps you immobilized. ~ Wayne Dyer
