“I have found that if you love life, life will love you back.” ~ Arthur Rubinstein
The more I advance through life, and the more love I infuse into everything that I am, and everything that I do, the more I realize how important it is to see everything through eyes of love.
Why?
Because love is so delicious and it feels so good. And the more love you put into every thought you think, every word you speak and every single thing you do, the more love you will receive back, and the better your life will get.
6 Ways to Infuse More Love into Your Life
If you are looking to infuse more love into your life, embracing, practicing and becoming one with the things I share with you below, will help you achieve just that. Enjoy 🙂
1. Look for the deeper meaning of things
“Out of clutter, find simplicity. From discord, find harmony. In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.” ~ Albert Einstein
Whenever things don’t go your way, and whenever life gives you more than you can handle, instead of blaming your circumstances and instead of adopting the victim mentality, take a few steps back, a few deep cleansing breaths, and then ask yourself these questions:
“Why is this happening to me?
What can I learn from these experiences?
How can I use this situation to my advantage?”
Don’t react with fear to what’s happening around you. Respond with more love. Trust that everything is happening for you. For your own growth, evolution, and expansion. Trust that life will always give you “whatever experience is most helpful for the evolution of your consciousness. How do you know this is the experience you need? Because this is the experience you are having at this moment.” ~ Eckhart Tolle, A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose:
Trust the wisdom of life. Look for the deeper meaning of things, and in time you will learn how to turn your wounds into wisdom, your difficulties into opportunities, and your fears into LOVE.
2. Get comfortable with “I love you”
It’s funny how many people think that you need to take drugs, get drunk, smoke and inject all kind of weird things into your body in order for you to get high. For me that’s just silly. It’s silly because, me, personally I discovered that all you have to do in order for you to feel really blissful, ecstatic and euphoric is to allow your heart to be wide open and then let the love that your Soul has to offer to flow in and out of your life.
That’s all. That’s all it takes. It’s that simple, yet that difficult.
For example, while I was in Kuala Lumpur, whenever I would take the LRT (an urban form of public transportation), I would say “I love you” to the many people who looked as if there was no life left in them. I have no idea why I started doing this, but I would look at one person, say: “I love you”, and then once I was done, I would move on to the next person, and the next person and the next until I would reach my destination.
And the funny thing is that one time, as I was playing with this “exercise”, I started feeling ecstatic. I got so high, blissful and euphoric that I had to stop. Tears started running down my face and I knew that if I continued, I would’ve probably exploded because of too much love. That’s a nice problem to have, right? 🙂
“Unconditional love really exists in each of us. It is part of our deep inner being. It is not so much an active emotion as a state of being. It’s not ‘I love you’ for this or that reason, not ‘I love you if you love me.’ It’s love for no reason, love without an object.” ~ Ram Dass
You see, thoughts, words, they all have power, creative power. And by practicing this “exercise”, and by really putting your heart into it, not only will you start feeling a lot of love and compassion for those around you, but you will also allow an abundance of love to flow through every cell of your body, making you feel all blissful, ecstatic and euphoric.
Why entertain all kind of repetitive, negative, toxic and self-defeating thoughts when you can choose to occupy your mind with more love?
Put your mind at work, and have it create feelings that make you feel blissful joyful and ecstatic. Use your mind to create love, not only for yourself but also for those around you. Get comfortable with “I love you”, and “I love you” will get very comfortable with you.
3. Release the past and make room for more LOVE
Isn’t it ironic how we use something as precious as the present moment to fill it in with past hurts? We think and talk about the past, we think and talk about the future but we rarely stop to pay attention to the present moment.
We don’t cling on to the past because we want to suffer but because we think that by holding on to it we will be happy. This is the irony.
We cling on to the past because the past gives us a sense of identity, it makes us who we are, or at least that’s what we think. Because we haven’t yet learned how to be present and engaged in our day to day lives, we continue to craft our lives from a place of limitations – the past, instead of doing it from a place of infinite choices and possibilities – the present moment.
A lot of people carry their past with them through resentment, blame, anger, fear, sadness, nostalgia, and attachments of all kind. And what they don’t realize is that by clinging onto all of these things they are making their life journey a lot more difficult, and a lot harder; slowing themselves down and keeping themselves from living the life they were intended to live.
Give yourself permission to work on forgiving those who might have hurt you in the past and make room in your mind, body, and heart for love, peace and tranquility. Work on accepting, embracing and forgiving it all, no matter how hard and impossible it might seem. Don’t cling on to the pain and what’s most important, don’t let your past define and limit you. Accept your past for what it was and accept your life for what it is now. Only by doing so will you have the power to change your present life situation.
4. Receive the whole world in your heart
I know that we live in a world where people think that they should give love only to those who love them and refrain their love from those who don’t love them. But in the last year or so I finally understood that true love isn’t selective; that true love isn’t about loving only a few people and ignoring the majority, but rather about recognizing yourself in the world around you, in everything and everyone, and welcoming the whole world in your heart.
“Love is not selective, just as the light of the sun is not selective. It does not make one person special. It is not exclusive. Exclusivity is not the love of God but the “love” of ego. ” ~ Eckhart Tolle, The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment
True Love is a lot like oxygen for your Soul. The more love you pour into everything and everyone, the more oxygen your allow your Soul to take in, and the healthier, stronger and more powerful you and your Soul become. But by loving selectively, by giving love only to those who we perceived as being worthy of receiving love, we are denying ourselves the right to know, to feel and to experience the abundance of love that flows through us. We are denying ourselves to really KNOW ourselves, and BE ourselves.
5. Ask more from Life, and less help from people
Up until this moment, life taught me so many powerful and valuable lessons. And one of these lessons was to Ask more from Life, and less from the people. Why? Because life is abundant in nature and it knows that it has no limits, but with people… that’s a different story. Most people have no idea who they are and what their true potential really is. Their mind is full of error, and so are their actions and behaviors.
By expecting a certain person to help you in a certain way, can, and often times will lead to disappointment. But asking Life for help, and then TRUSTING and BELIEVING that you will receive what you asked for, will lead to you being amazed by the many wonderful things you receive and the forms in which your wishes will be granted.
“Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession.” ~ Psalm 2:8
6. Forget the world and what you were told
“Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.” ~ Buddha
Forget the world and everything you were told. Create your own rules and follow your own inner compass. Build your life based on what feels right for you, and not based on what the world dictates. Who cares what the trends are? Who cares what the “experts” tell you about what you should do or shouldn’t do? Just be yourself. Live life your own way. Unfold your own myth, create your own reality.
Do only the things that you feel in your you should do them. Honor yourself and all that you are, and by doing so, you will know how to live.
