“Remind yourself daily that your life is yours to live and that what other people think of you is none of your business.” ~ Luminita D. Saviuc
Life is made up of days. And if you focus on making each day beautiful – appreciating, enjoying and loving what is – in the end, you will have created a beautiful life.
11 Things You Should Remind Yourself Daily
Here are 11 things you should remind yourself daily, things that will most probably bring more sunshine into your life and more peace into your heart.
Enjoy 🙂
1. Remind yourself daily that this moment is your life.
Today, here and now is where your life is. This moment is your life. And if you make a choice to immerse yourself fully into this moment – appreciating, enjoying and loving what is, you will soon discover that everything you have been looking for has always been right in front of your eyes.
2. Remind yourself that there is a time for everything.
There is a time for joy and a time for sorrow; a time to laugh and a time to cry; a time to speak, and a time to remain silent; a time to search and a time to let go; a time for safety, and a time for danger; a time for being vigorous, and a time for being at rest. There is a time for being alone and a time for being surrounded by the people you love; a time to be born and a time to die.
There is a time for everything and a season for all things. Learn to live in harmony with the rhythm of the changing seasons and in doing so, you will be at peace.
3. Remind yourself that each day is a new beginning, each morning is a new life.
The beautiful thing about life is that each morning it gives you a new chance – a new opportunity to start all over – to let go of your yesterdays and make a fresh new start in life.
That’s how generous life is.
There is no need to be impatient. No need to rush through things. As the wise Ralph Waldo Emerson said it so beautifully,
“Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities, no doubt crept in. Forget them as soon as you can, tomorrow is a new day.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
4. Remind yourself that nothing in life is yours to keep.
Everything in life is fleeting and impermanent – everything changes, nothing ever stays the same. And even though we like to hold on to things – to own and possess as much as we possibly can, the truth of the matter is that nothing in life is ours to keep.
When the time will come for us to leave this physical world, we will take nothing with us – except the LOVE we have given, and we will leave everything else behind.
5. Remind yourself daily that your pains did not come to punish you but to liberate you.
Every experience and every interaction life sends your way – no matter how painful and unbearable it is a blessing in disguise sent your way to you to shape you, to mold you and to help you become the person you were born to be.
Your pains, struggles and the many challenges you have been facing did not come to punish you. But to liberate you from the prison of your darkness and ignorance. They have come to reveal to you the Truth of who you are.
Resist nothing. But rather surrender to everything – in Love, Faith, Humility, and Confidence. Trusting that it will all lead you back, from your self to your Self.
6. Remind yourself that you were born with wings.
You were not made for pain. You were not made for suffering. And you were surely not made for fear.
You were made for Love.
You were made for Beauty. You were made for Truth, Wisdom, Laughter, and Peace. To quote the wise Sufi poet, Rumi:
“You were born with potential. You were born with goodness and trust. You were born with ideals and dreams. You were born with greatness. You were born with wings. You are not meant for crawling, so don’t. You have wings. Learn to use them and fly.” ~ Rumi
Break the chains of your imprisonment. Escape your fears and return to Love
7. Remind yourself that what other people think of you is none of your business.
As the wise Lao Tzu said it more than 2500 years ago, “Care about people’s approval and you will be their prisoner.”
Worrying about what other people think of you and adjusting your life based on their opinions is a recipe for stress, unhappiness, confusion, and misery.
Always remember that your life is yours to live and that what other people think of you is none of your business.
8. Remind yourself daily to never neglect your path for another.
You have your own path to walk upon – your unique purpose to fulfill in life. And no matter how tempting it might be to put your life on hold just because those around you are asking for it, don’t.
Always remember that the relationship you have with your Self, your Purpose and your Calling in life is the most important relationship you will ever have.
This is a sacred relationship. And it wise to treat it as such.
9. Remind yourself that it is better to be alone than in bad company.
Seek the company of the wise, of the kind, and of the loving. And if these people are nowhere to be found,
“If for company you cannot find a wise and prudent friend who leads a good life, then, like a king who leaves behind a conquered kingdom, or like a lone elephant in the elephant forest, you should go your way alone.” ~ Dhammapada
10. Remind yourself that you are a human being, not a human doing.
Your Being is worth more than your Doing. For it is in the quality of your Being that determines the quality of your Doing.
Never mistake these two.
If you do, you risk falling into the trap of thinking that your self-worth comes from how well you do things in life, and not from who you Are.
Embrace your Humanity. Be who you truly are. And let Life take care of the rest.
11. Remind yourself that who you are is enough.
Who you are is already enough. And not because of how your life looks externally, but because of who you are deep inside.
Your Real Value and True Worth comes from Being who you have always been. So don’t you even dare – not even for a second, to think otherwise.
You are enough already. And nothing you say, think or do can change that.
And these are the 11 things worth reminding ourselves daily. As I’m sure you’ve already noticed, they are simple things – nothing complex about them, nothing out of the ordinary. But you and I know that it is in the simple things that our peace, joy, and fulfillment lies.
