“Let’s start with what we can be thankful for, and get our mind into that vibration, and then watch the good that starts to come, because one thought leads to another thought.” ~Bob Proctor
Bob Proctor
A while back, Bob Proctor, one of the most sought-after speakers for professional coaching and seminars in the world, master thinker and a teacher in the widely popular movie, The Secret, paid a visit to Mindvalley Headquarter, the amazing company I work for as a Content Development Lead to record some really amazing materials on abundance and paradigm shift, materials that will be shared on our FinerMinds blog.
Since I am in love with this world of personal development and spirituality, Vishen Lakhiani, the co-founder of Mindvalley who’s also a dear friend of mine, invited me to have lunch with both him and Bob, which of course I accepted without blinking an eye 🙂
We’ve talked about all kind of things, big and small, about how we should never try to be normal because normality isn’t something anyone should aspire towards (I loved that) and about the power of thinking, because of course, he’s a master thinker.
What impressed me the most was to find out that Vishen, while he was in London for a weekend seminar – he used to hold small meditation seminars, ran into Bob, and at one point Bob asked Vishen how much was he earning for the seminars.
Vishen would fly across the world, be away from his family for the weekend and even though he was making good money, when Bob heard how much Vishen was earning, and knowing his real value and what a brilliant man Vishen was, he replied, and I will paraphrase:
Why in the world would you do that?
In that moment, something incredible happened and Vishen realized how wright Bob was.
You can always do greater things and the value you put on yourself would be the value people would pay for your work. Everything changed for Vishen from that moment onwards, and that conversation sparked the idea for the beautiful and inspiring, Awesomness Fest.
I love these kind of stories and I love how Vishen’s life was transformed in a beautiful and powerful way after that. Can you imagine how amazing that is, to just change a couple of words with someone who is really aware of their inner power, and at the end of the conversation to realize that you are a completely different person because you’ve just realized there are no limits to what you can achieve only those you choose to impose on yourself? Isn’t it fascinating? I love it!
According to Bob, our lives can be changed drastically by changing the quality of our thinking, it all starts at the level of THOUGHT, thought is everything!
“No amount of reading or memorizing will make you successful in life. It is the understanding and application of wise thought which counts.” ~Bob Proctor
I can tell you from my own experience that there is no greater truth than that. Once you change your thoughts, you change your life, and just like Einstein said it,
“The world we have created is a product of our thinking; it cannot be changed without changing our thinking.” ~ Einstein
So, if you want to change your reality, change your thoughts;
If you want to shift from unhappy to happy, change your thoughts;
If you want to go from living in fear and pain to living a peaceful and loving life, change your thoughts;
If you want to start living a more meaningful and abundant life, change your thoughts, etc. …
It all starts with a thought, with the thoughts that run through our minds and if our thoughts are pure, kind, peaceful and loving, so would our lives be.
“Men will continue to have impure and poisoned blood, so long as they propagate unclean thoughts. Out of a clean heart comes a clean life and a clean body. Out of a defiled mind proceeds a defiled life and a corrupt body. Thought is the fount of action, life, and manifestation; make the fountain pure, and all will be pure.” ~ James Allen
So what do you THINK, do thoughts really have that much power? And are you the one playing with your mind, or is your mind playing with you?
P.S. I want to take a moment to appreciate a man that did so much for the world and that recently passed away. Bob Proctor, thank you for all the love and wisdom you anchored into this world. The world feels a bit more empty without you. But I do know you are in a far greater place.
We love you and we are grateful for you. May you rest in Peace.

I couldn’t agree more. Our thoughts steer the direction of our lives, whether we acknowledge it or not. So it’s best to take authority over them and command where you want to be heading. I resonate so strongly with your discussion about normality — normal is boring! 😉 Thanks for this inspiring post.
