To create a breathtaking life isn’t a luxury reserved only for the already rich and famous. But rather a right that we all inherited the moment we came into this world.
Here are 9 ways in which you can create a happy, loving, and meaningful life for yourself and those you love. (Make sure you pay close attention to number 9.)
How to Create a Breathtaking Life for Yourself
1. Set Your Intention
The first step in creating a breathtaking life is to set your intention. To get clear on what is it that you want to create, and commit to making it happen. Because just as Patañjali said it,
“When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds: Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties, and talents become alive, and you discover yourself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.” ~ Patañjali
2. Envision Your Breathtaking Life
“Someone told me something that stuck with me: ‘You have to envision your life, and then go backwards.’ I’ve been living by that motto for a while, so I see where I need to be. Now I’m just backtracking and trying to get back up there.” ~ Bruno Mars
If you want to create a better life for yourself, you have to envision it. You have to get into the habit of seeing yourself already living the life you have imagined – to feel it, to sense it, to become it. And live each day as if all the things you so much desire are already present and part of your everyday life.
You have to learn to feel the freedom that comes from doing the things you love the most; the excitement that comes from living each day in the environment you want to live in; to sense the physicality of the things you want to have present in your life… To feel the love, happiness, and admiration of the people you surround yourself with. To feel the joy that comes from impacting so many lives through your presence, your work, and your love… You have to see it, feel it, become it!
3. Ignore All Evidence of Your Senses
Let me tell you one little story. When the idea of my first book came to me, I had no idea how I was going to make it happen.
None! (And trust me, there are a lot of things you have to consider before writing a book.)
But what I KNEW for sure in my heart was that I was going to write that book. And that it was going to be published by the bigger publisher in the world.
I just KNEW it!
And you know what? In less than a few months, without me moving one finger to make it happen, I was approached by the chief editor of the biggest book publisher in the world and I was asked to write my first book.
“Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
You see, it really doesn’t matter what your senses tell you. The only thing that truly matters is what you KNOW in your heart to be true. And even though a lot of people will trying to get you to justify how in the world are you going to make it happen (they did the same with me), you have to learn not to spend too much time arguing or explaining yourself – to yourself or to others.
You have to ignore all facts, and what reality tells you, and you have to have FAITH that what you KNOW in your heart to be true will eventually become a reality.
Because it will!
“Disregard appearances, conditions, in fact, all evidence of your senses that deny the fulfillment of your desire. Rest in the assumption that you are already what you want to be, for in that determined assumption you and your Infinite Being are merged in creative unity, and with your Infinite Being all things are possible.” ~ Neville Goddard
4. Keep Your Doubt & Fear In Check
Overcome fear by realizing that all fear is nothing but a state forgetfulness — forgetting your Truth, forgetting your Worth, forgetting your Power, forgetting your Wisdom, forgetting your Purpose, and forgetting your Source.
To set your intention and feel your dream as a present fact for a little while – that can be easy – a lot of people can do that. But to live each day feeling, seeing, sensing, and acting as if your breathtaking life is already here, already a reality – that is quite a challenge. And unfortunately, that’s where a lot of people get lost.
If you want to make sure that your dreams will come to fruition and your breathtaking life is not just a beautiful story you tell yourself from time to time, you have to learn to keep your doubt and fear in check. And you have to learn how to shift from fear to Love, from falsehood to Truth, from doubt to Faith. (I wrote a whole article on how to overcome fear. You can read it here: 9 Ways to Overcome Fear and Live with Courage.)
5. Do your part
“Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.” – Abraham Lincoln
Your dreams won’t work unless you do.
If you want to create a breathtaking life for yourself, you have to do your part. You have to play your role.
I knew I was going to write a book, and I had the whole concept ready in my head. And when the opportunity came – because of my background, my knowledge, and my expertise – I was open, ready, and willing to make the dream happen.
And the applies to you.
If you are serious about rebuilding your life and making it ridiculously amazing, you have to prepare yourself. You have to make sure you are doing your part and playing your role as beautifully and as skilfully as possible. So that when opportunity knocks, to be willing and ready to let it in.
“The meeting of preparation with opportunity generates the offspring we call luck.” – Tony Robbins
6. Tell no one of your dreams
If you feel that your faith isn’t really that solid and that doubt could slowly creep into your heart by telling people of your big, bold and breathtaking dreams, it is better to keep quiet and follow the advice of the wise Lao Tzu:
“Let your workings remain a mystery. Just show people your results.” ~ Lao Tzu
7. Dwell in the State of Gratitude
Nikola Tesla wasn’t kidding when he affirmed that everything in this universe vibrates. We live in a world of energy and vibration, and based on the vibrational level of our own thoughts and emotions, we attract into our lives the people, places, things, and experiences that are in alignment with those vibrations.
“Everybody is like a magnet. You attract to yourself reflections of that which you are. If you’re friendly, then everybody else seems to be friendly too.“ ~ David Hawkins
Since gratitude is a high-level vibration, the more time you spend in gratitude, the easier it becomes for you to align with your Inner Truth and Purpose and access the infinite reservoirs of Love, Wealth, Health, Wisdom, and Power that are already present within you and all around you.
But you have to really feel it. You have to genuinely and truthfully feel gratitude in every cell of your body, and not just think or try to fake it. That won’t work. (You can read Power versus Force by Dr. David Hawkins to learn more about the scale of consciousness and how our thoughts and emotions impact our lives. Powerful book. )
8. Don’t Try to Make It Happen. Let It Happen
“By letting it go it all gets done. The world is won by those who let it go. But when you try and try. The world is beyond the winning.” ~ Lao Tzu
There will be moments when you will get impatient, moments when you will want to make it happen by yourself – way faster than it should be happening. And when that happens, I want you to take a few deep breaths and remind yourself that it’s not your job to Make it happen. But it is your job to, Let it happen.
Don’t ruin what is almost ripe.
Trust in the natural flow of life and allow things to follow their natural course. And whenever needed, remind yourself that:
“Rushing into action, you fail. Trying to grasp things, you lose them. Forcing a project to completion, you ruin what was almost ripe. Therefore the Master takes action by letting things take their course. He remains as calm at the end as at the beginning.” ― Lao Tzu
9. Feelings over Things
So many of us were raised to believe that we need Things to Feel a certain way. And that the bigger and fancier they are, the better we would feel.
But that’s just nonsense. Nothing external to you can bring you true, and long-lasting fulfillment. Absolutely nothing!
And to avoid the trap so many people have already fallen into, by chasing outside of them for the billion of things they think they need to feel whole, happy, and fulfilled, it’s important – when envisioning your breathtaking life, to focus on the Feelings rather than on the Things.
To focus on the Joy, Peace, Love, Happiness, Health, and Fulfillment you already feel in your heart rather than on the things that you think you need in order to feel this way.
By doing so, your intention will be pure, and your life will be free of attachments. And the many beautiful things you will have in your life will be there to serve You, instead of you serving, Them.
And that my friend is what a breathtaking life is really all about.
“Remove the blindness by asking yourself what you would like, in place of what seems to be. Enter into that thought. Revel in it as though it were not a fact. Persuade yourself that it is. Believe in its reality and it will become your experience.” – Neville Goddard
You might think you need to do a lot, and have a lot in order for you to create the life you deserve. But you don’t. All that you need is your Imagination and your Faith. And with these two you can create whatever your heart desires.
