“I am a human being, nothing human can be alien to me.’ That’s one thing I’m learning.” ~ Maya Angelou
What It Means to Be Human
Life’s many experiences have taught me that every human being who walks this Earth is a Sacred Being created in the image and likeness of Divinity itself. And that it is my responsibility to treat each and every one of them with compassion, dignity, love. and respect. By honoring their beauty and perfection, and by reminding myself constantly to look beyond all masks, roles, and costumes, and see them for who they truly are.
And in this short yet powerful video, the beautiful and luminous Maya Angelou reminds us of all these things and many others, by articulating what, to be human humanity is really all about, and the beauty and grace that comes from that.

Maya Angelou Speaks about What It Means to Be Human
I really feel that this quote sums it all up: “If a human being dreams a great dream, dares to love somebody; if a human being dares to be Martin King, or Mahatma Gandhi, or Mother Theresa, or Malcolm X; if a human being dares to be bigger than the condition into which she or he was born—it means so can you. And so you can try to stretch, stretch, stretch yourself so you can internalize, ‘Homo sum, humani nil a me alienum puto. I am a human being, nothing human can be alien to me.’ That’s one thing I’m learning.” ~ Maya Angelou
