Release-And-Let-Go-Learning-To-Make-Peace-With-Yourself

“We can’t be afraid of change. You may feel very secure in the pond that you are in, but if you never venture out of it, you will never know that there is such a thing as an ocean, a sea. Holding onto something that is good for you now, may be the very reason why you don’t have something better.” ~ C. JoyBell C.

For the past 4 years or so I have been doing so much work on myself, cleansing, clearing, forgiving, releasing and letting go of the many painful memories, self defeating thoughts, toxic relationships, places and experiences that were holding me back in life and causing me a lot of harm. I felt like I needed to make peace with myself and my past and letting go of all of these things helped me do just that. They helped me to find peace. They helped me to be at peace. And you know what interesting thing is? The more I continue to cleanse and detox myself and my life, the lighter I feel and the more love I seem to have, not only for myself but also for the whole world.

I go outside and wherever I look I see so much beauty and I have this overwhelming feeling of love for everything and everyone.

I am currently in my hometown, here in Romania, the place I used to hate and see as a very ugly and dark place to be, mostly because of everything that happened to me in the past and because of how people used to be mean to me when I was a kid.

But now that I have made peace with myself and my past, forgiving and releasing what I needed to release and forgive, I only see beauty and I only have love for this place and the people living here.

Release And Let Go: Learning To Make Peace With Yourself

“The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.” ~ Albert Einstein

The world is nothing but a mirror of who we ourselves are. And when you change, the whole world seems to be changing with you.

If you purify yourself, the outside world will be purified as well and where you once saw darkness you will start seeing light, and where you once felt fearful you will start feeling loved. This is how life works. This is how we work.

“The world is like a mirror; frown at it, and it frowns at you. Smile and it smiles, too.” ~ Herbert Samuels

There is darkness in each and every one of us, there’s no doubt about it. But all that darkness can’t even compare with all the beauty, all the love, light and peace that hides in each and every one of us.

“There is not enough darkness in all the world to put out the light of even one small candle.” ~ Robert Alden

I am amazed at all the things I keep discovering about myself every single day and I can’t believe how much love can be found in just one person, in just one body. And the more I dig, the more love I seem to find and the more love I have to offer.

Leo Buscaglia was right. Love is life. Love is who we truly are. And if you miss love, you miss life and you miss the chance to know yourself and to fully be yourself.

If I would have a magic wand, I would use it to make everyone see themselves for who they really are and not for who they THINK they are.

We are all such beautiful and loving creatures but most of us don’t even know this. We don’t even want to believe this. And thus, it is easier to think very little of ourselves and to perceive ourselves as not being enough, as never being good enough…

All our fears and self-defeating thoughts, all our doubts, insecurities, excuses and many limitations pushed us away from our own path and away from experiencing inner peace, love and tranquility.

You can’t have peace if you are not living the life deep down inside you know you should be living. You can’t have peace when you are pretending to be something you are not.

“When you find peace within yourself, you become the kind of person who can live at peace with others.” Peace Pilgrim

We forgot who we really are. We forgot about ourselves, we forgot about love, about our own inner light and we forgot the meaning of life and the reason of our own existence. And now we are sleepwalking. Living a life that is not ours to live and pretending to be something we are not. Which is sad.

“Every human being’s essential nature is perfect and faultless, but after years of immersion in the world we easily forget our roots and take on a counterfeit nature.” ~ Lao Tzu

But there is always a way back, a way back home, back to ourselves and back to living our lives from a place of love and authenticity. And “the way” can be found in letting go, in carving away the rough walls that imprison the lovely apparition of our own real selves and in living our lives from a place of love and authenticity. No longer from a place of fear and limitations.

“In every block of marble, I see a statue as plain as though it stood before me, shaped and perfect in attitude and action. I have only to hew away the rough walls that imprison the lovely apparition to reveal it to the other eyes as mine see it.”~ Michelangelo

Be your own sculptor. Carve away all your rough walls – the past, fears, excuses, limitations, etc., and allow your true self to be revealed. Allow the real you to shine brightly, because you see, “Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ~ Marianne Williamson

Release and let go. and by doing so the whole world will make peace with you.

Have you made peace with your past? Have you made peace with yourself? Why do you think it’s so hard for people to let go of what hurts them and commit themselves to living their lives from a place of love and authenticity? I really want to know what are your thoughts on this. You can share your insights by joining the conversation in the comment section below 🙂
