15 Things You Should Add on Your Daily To Be List

I have always loved this quote from Wayne Dyer: “I am a human being, not a human doing. Don’t equate your self-worth with how well you do things in life. You aren’t what you do. If you are what you do, then when you don’t…you aren’t.”

What Is On Your Daly To Be List?

You are a Human Being, not a Human Doing, and even though you might do a lot of things throughout the day, it’s so important to understand that all of those things are what you do and not who you are.

Being comes before doing and if you attain a peaceful, graceful and joyful state of being, and do all things from this delicious place without stressing, worrying, rejecting and resisting what comes your way, your whole life will be transformed.

15 Things You Should Add to Your Daily To Be List

1. Be Yourself.

The first thing to add to your To Be List is to Be Yourself.

Don’t hide. Don’t pretend. Don’t act. Don’t try to trim yourself to suit everyone. Just be yourself.

“Let the world know you as you are, not as you think you should be, because sooner or later if you are posing, you will forget the pose, and then where are you?” ~ Fanny Brice

2. Be Present.

Life is here and now and the best way to create a happy life is by enjoying this moment. Be present and engaged in this moment. Accept, embrace and make peace with everything that happens to you right now and do your best not to fight or resist what is. Trust that

“Life will give you whatever experience is most helpful for the evolution of your consciousness. How do you know this is the experience you need? Because this is the experience you are having at the moment.” ~ Eckhart Tolle

3. Be Thankful.

Every experience and every interaction life sends your way, no matter if good or bad, is meant to shape you, to mold you and to help you become the wonderful, loving and powerful being you were born to be. So why not choose to be thankful for everything life sends your way?

“Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire, If you did, what would there be to look forward to? Be thankful for the difficult times. During those times you grow. Be thankful for your limitations because they give you opportunities for improvement. Be thankful for each new challenge Because it will build your strength and character. ” ~ Author Unknown

4. Be Happy.

William James, the father of modern psychology, said it best with these words:

“I don’t sing because I’m happy; I’m happy because I sing.” ~ William James

Happiness is a state of being, and you should seek to be joyful without expecting outside circumstances to place you in this state. By doing so, every activity you’ll engage in will be a lot more fun and your mood will no longer be at the mercy of external forces.

5. Be Love.

Open your heart and allow love to govern all areas of your life. Allow love to flood every cell of your body. Your environment, your relationships, your life and the world around you. Let love be your best friend and companion. Let it guide you on a path of light, of joy, of happiness and well-being.

“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” ~ 1 John 4:8

6. Be Compassionate.

Another thing that should be on your daily to be list is to be compassionate with yourself and others. Treat everyone with tolerance, kindness, love, and understanding. Remind yourself as often as possible that:

“A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.” ~ Albert Einstein

7. Be Silent.

A wise person once said that when you talk, you are only repeating what you already know. But when you choose to be silent, when you choose to listen to what others have to say, you might learn something new.

Silence is a precious gift. In that space between your words, it’s where you find your true self.

When the mind is quiet, when there are no thoughts and no words to be said, you can hear your own heart talking to you. You can hear our own soul and our own intuition. And Herman Melville has a really beautiful quote that explains exactly what I mean:

“God’s one and only voice is Silence.” ~ Herman Melville

When you give yourself permission to be quiet, to breathe in and breathe out, without trying force yourself into saying another word or think another thought, that’s when you hear your inner voice, your heart and intuition. That’s when you experience your own Divinity, your own beauty, and perfection. And that’s a very meaningful thing to be added to your daily to be list.

8. Be Good.

Spread your goodness in all directions.  Be good to your friends. Be good to your family. Be good to those who like you, but also to those who don’t. Be good to every person you come in contact with, no matter how good or bad they might seem to you. Be good to all living creatures… Be good to yourself.

How about adding this on your daily to be list?

9. Be Playful.

George Bernard Shaw was right when he said that “We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.”We all have an inner child that wants to come out and play so why not let him or her play?

Be playful, be childlike. Have fun in all that you do. Laugh until your belly hurts and then laugh some more. Don’t take life too seriously.

Don’t take yourself too seriously.

10. Be Forgiving.

Forgive yourself for the things you think you’ve done wrong. Forgive those people who might have harmed you in the past. Forgive the past, the present, and the future. Let go of what’s bitter and move on.

11. Be Courageous.

Dare to do the things that your heart and soul are asking you to do. Go after your dreams. Listen and follow your inner guidance. And no matter what happens to you, never shrink yourself for someone else’s comfort. Never make yourself small just because those around you refuse to grow. Be brave. Be courageous. Most definitely a very important thing to check off your daily to be list.

12. Be Confident.

15 Things You Should Add on Your Daily To Be List 7 Powerful Ways to Give up the Victim Mentality and Live with Confidence

Who you are matters. What you know matters. So be confident in who you are. Be confident in who life created you to be, and this should definitely go on your daily to be list.

“Be yourself; no base imitator of another, but your best self. There is something which you can do better than another. Listen to the inward voice and bravely obey that. Do the things at which you are great, not what you were never made for.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

13. Be crazy.

Be crazy. Be weird. Be whatever you want to be. Behave the way you want to behave. Don’t be too concerned with what other people might think of you. You only live once, so you might as well have fun.

“You need to be a little bit crazy. Crazy is the price you pay for having an imagination. It’s your superpower. Tapping into the dream. It’s a good thing not a bad thing.” ~ Ruth Ozeki

14. Be patient.

Your daily to be list definitely should include patience. There are things in life that require more time than others. Time to blossom, to develop, to grow and to mature. And by:

“Rushing into action, you fail. Trying to grasp things, you lose them. Forcing a project to completion, you ruin what was almost ripe.” ~ Lao Tzu

Make sure you to your Be patient to your To Be List. Trust that everything will happen the way it needs to happen, not the way you think it should happen. Follow the advice of Lao Tzu and wait till your mud settles and the water is clear. Remain unmoving untill the right action arises by itself. Allow your life to unfold naturally. Release all resistance and trust that everything will happen in divine timing;

15. Be at peace.

One of the last things that you should put on your daily to be list is o accept who you are, where you’ve been, your scars, your wounds, your darkness, your fears, your imperfections, and all your insecurities, that is to be at peace.

Work toward this goal. Look for peace within yourself, and know that

“The moment: “you find peace within yourself, you become the kind of person who can live at peace with others.” ~ Peace Pilgrim

And these are a few of the many wonderful things you can add on your To Be List. I would love to know which one is your most favorite. You can share your comment in the comment section below 🙂
