“If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can’t survive.” ~ Brené Brown
Empathy: The Power of Connection
As someone who feels this strong need to give love to those who feel unloved and ease the pain of those who suffer, I have to confess that it can be quite challenging at time to hold your ground and not get lost in all the pain, sadness, unhappiness, and struggle that’s being presented to you each day.
There’s a lot of emotional pain out there. A lot of emptiness, confusion, sadness and unhappiness in people’s hearts. Now more than ever people are starving for love, connection, joy, meaning, and affection. And if we don’t learn to open our hearts and share our love with one another, we will create even more pain and unhappiness for ourselves and for the people around us.
In this heart warming video, Brené Brown speaks on empathy in a way only she can, reminding us that we can ease someone’s pain and suffering, and we can create genuine empathic connections only if we are brave enough to really get in touch with our own fragilities.
Enjoy and feel free to share. The world could use a lesson in empathy from the amazing Brené Brown.

What about you? When was the last time you eased someone’s pain by being there for them, not in a sympathetic way, but rather in an empathic way? You can share your comment in the comment section below 🙂
