How To Let Your Little Inner Light Shine

“You have an inner light within you that is craving to be shared by those around you, by the world at large – but mostly by you. When you share your unique light, bit by bit, you light up the lives of those around you. And, one by one, you inspire them to light up too. It’s a chain reaction. And before long, the whole world lights up. Your light is contagious.” ~ Rebecca Campbell

This inspiring quote by Rebecca Campbell speaks volumes to my soul!  In her book, Light is the New Black the author helps you uncover your magic and potential aka your “LIGHT”.  It illustrates how important your gifts are and elevate your life.

The inner light is your home, something that each individual has.  I remember asking the universe for guidance at a young age unaware of what that truly meant.

There was something larger than myself and somehow knew I had to trust.  When family or friends are in situations and need comfort and prayers I often say “ I am sending healing love and light your way”.

Inner Light: What Does it Really Mean?

I am going to backtrack here, I remember in grade school singing a moving song in a choir called “This Little Light of Mine” by Harry Dixon.  Known as a gospel and children’s song in the 1950s, it later evolved into having a different connotation.  I was about 11 years old and not aware of the actual meaning of this song.

However, as an adult now recognize it was a gospel song that became the anthem of the civil rights movement in the United States.

This song provided faith during a time of strife.  It was about giving hope during a turbulent period in history.  It is a reminder of the higher power and that grace is on your side.  I often reflect on those choir days and still hum and sing this inspirational song.  Below are a few lyrics from This Little Light of Mine:

“On Monday he gave me the gift of love,
Tuesday peace came from above,
Wednesday he told me to have more faith,
And on Thursday he brought me the gift of grace.
And then on Friday he told me “Watch and pray”,
And then on Saturday what to say,
On Sunday he gave me the power divine
To let my little light shine.”

For each day of the week, there is a deeper spiritual connotation to reflect upon. Wouldn’t it be a blessing if we could incorporate these lyrics into our week and days?  It would be a constant reminder of love, peace, faith, grace, and prayer.

I feel that these five words are so powerful!

In our modern-day turbulent society, this song gives us a reminder of simplicity.  To let your inner light shine, speak up, not give in to adversity or the ego.

Why am I talking about Light?

This particular song and novel by Rebecca Campbell, have assisted with my comprehension of what “LIGHT” truly embodies.  This Little Light of Mine, captured my heart and Light Is The New Black, accelerated my path to self-love.

Your inner light is your spirit. Your inner light is connected to your soul.  When you walk into a room, your spirit, energy, and frequency are felt instantly.  As they say “vibes don’t lie”.

You carry with you an essence that is unlike anyone else – this is your birthright to shine.  You may not be able to see it but around you is a giant force field which is also known as your aura field.  Let this enigmatic wave of energy carry you. Your light is sacred, contagious, effortless, and powerful. Your light emits your God/Goddess energy, it is your unique gift to humanity.

Your Inner Light is Love

Spiritually, light captures the essence of your heart and soul.  You were cosmically woven to be here at this place in time.  Your soul is rare, no one else is you.  We are all here to uncover our being and shine your inner light on one another.

Your inner light is your service to humanity, perhaps its seen in your personality, demeanor, occupation, acts of kindness or the way you uplift others.  There are countless things which make you a beacon of change in this lifetime.

I am here to tell you to never stop doing what you are doing, you are making impacts that are seen by many. Keep going, embrace uncertainty and know it’s all coming together.

How To Let Your Little Inner Light Shine

Your work is only to shine and be you!

“I’M TALKING TO THAT PART OF YOU Today, I’m talking to that part of you who yearns for more. The part of you who knows exactly what you want beyond all else. To that part of you who effortlessly believes that anything is possible and that it’s possible in an instant. I’m talking to that part of you who longs to break right on through that self-imposed ceiling your mind has created out of fear, lack, should, and could. To smash and shatter it into a billion little pieces.

I’m talking to that part of you who longs, who dreams, who dances, who wishes. To the part of you that cheers, that laughs, that leaps, that bounds. To that part of you who truly wants the best for others because it deeply knows that there is more than enough to go round.

I’m talking to that part of you who knows what you want and the exact next step to take to get it. To that part of you who knows you’re not broken and isn’t the slightest bit interested in perpetuating the story that says it’s so. To that part of you who knows the way and longs to guide the rest of you back home.

Today, that’s the part of you I’m talking to. And I’m asking it to step forward and lead the way.”~ Rebecca Campbell, Light is the New Black: A Guide to Answering Your Soul’s Callings and Working Your Inner Light
