“Nothing changes unless you do the work. But so many of us don’t want to do the work. And that’s when things start to get messy. That’s when we start to complain, judge, blame, and pretend we are victims in a world that pushes us around… ” ~ Luminita D. Saviuc
I woke up this morning and I just didn’t feel like getting out of bed. I didn’t feel like meditating or doing any of the activities that are part of my morning routine.
In fact, it all felt senseless to me.
Why should I do these things? I know they won’t help me get out of this state. These were the thoughts running through my mind.
Still, I had to remind myself that what I was thinking and feeling wasn’t TRUE! (I’ve been through these states many times and I now KNOW they are not true.) Also, I have come a long way to know that coming out of these lower states requires a level of commitment, discipline, and work!
Even though my body was raging with emotions and my mind was trying to pull me down, I did my best not to go there.
I sat down and I meditated. And to be honest with you, it didn’t feel like a good meditation.
But again, I had to remind myself that just as Dr. Joe Dispenza taught me, there is no bad meditation, there is only an overcoming of self.
Nothing changes unless WE do the work
You see, there are days when I wake up feeling happy and in love with life. Days when I start singing and dancing because I feel good! I feel confident and alive…
I know exactly why I am here and what I am doing with my life.
But there are also days when I feel lost and confused… Days when none of it seems to make any sense and all I want to do is give up!
Sounds familiar?
It is in those moments that I have to remind myself I have a choice. I can choose to either feel sorry for myself and believe the lies my thoughts and feelings are telling me. Or I can choose to use my discernment and not give into these changing moods and attitudes.
Nothing changes unless WE do the work!
Progress happens one day at a time… one step at a time. We don’t just wake up one day and all of a sudden feel confident, happy, healthy, and completely in love with life. We get to this place through practice, commitment, work, and discipline. You improve your life by taking little steps each day that will take you closer to the life you dream of living.
Nothing changes unless YOU do the work
Nothing changes unless YOU do the work. But so many of us don’t want to do the work. And that’s when things start to get messy. That’s when we start to complain, judge, blame, and pretend we are victims in a world that pushes us around…
We always have a choice to do what’s best for us. And even though doing the work isn’t always easy (I know), we have to remind ourselves that being happy, healthy, at peace… being in love with life, ourselves, and the people in our lives is so much better than living in fear, blame, survival, and constantly complaining about how nothing seems to work for us.
Living a good life, being happy and healthy, feeling loved, valued and safe requires awareness and commitment. A desire to use all we have already learned and all the tools, skills, knowledge and wisdom we are being given to create those many beautiful things, relationships, projects, and experiences we say we want to create and experience.
- What makes you feel safe and protected?
- What gives you a sense of purpose and fulfillment?
- What are the things that help you feel closer and more connected to those you love?
- What makes you feel connected to the part of you that is sacred and divine?
- What are the little things you can do that will help you feel a little more confident, deserving, and at peace?
- What are the small steps you can take today to feel healthier and more alive?
- What are the little things that can help you add another brick to the foundation of your dream life?
It’s so important to be honest with yourself and look at the things you can do to live better, feel happier and healthier, have more, and become more.
You don’t have to be perfect. Nor do you have to do things in a perfect way. You just have to show up and do little things with a little more love.
That’s all.
To use the words of a wise woman, what if you could see life like a garden? And what if, like a gardener, you ask yourself: What does my garden need from me today? And how can I use what I have already grown in my garden to make my life and my self a little happier today?
Nothing changes unless YOU and I do the work.
P.S. You can make great progress even when life isn’t easy. And you can always use what comes your way to either become Better, or you can use it to become Bitter. It’s all up to you!
