“The voice of wisdom urges you to go within. To continue to be used, mistreated, and abused, the world forces you to stay without…” ~ Luminita D. Saviuc
I have been thinking quite a lot lately about what it truly means to be deeply rooted in your Self—ONE with the God in you—and at peace with the whole world; what it truly means to be in the world but not of the world.
I guess I have reached that point in my life where I really want to know who I am underneath it all, what is my reason for existence, where do I come from and where am I headed.
I no longer want to live life “according to the program of life’s morning.” Because as Carl Jung discovered, “what was great in the morning will be little at evening and what in the morning was true, at evening will have become a lie.”
Carl Jung called this, the Spiritual Stage… that point in Man’s life when he begins to realize that there is more to him than his physical body, name, earthly possessions, gender, race, color, family, accomplishments, etc.. That point in his life when, for a reason unknown to him, dormant forces come to life, asking him to awaken and pay more and more attention to the still and loving voice coming from deep within, and less and less attention to the loud, fearful and chaotic voice of the world.
Pay attention to the voice coming from within
“People were created to be loved. Things were created to be used. The reason why the world is in chaos is because things are being loved and people are being used.” ~ Dalai Lama XIV
If there is one thing the world is good at, that is making you feel inadequate, unworthy, fearful, lost, alone and never enough.
I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but no matter how hard you try to prove your worth to the world around you, and no matter how hard you work on gaining the world’s ‘love, approval and respect’, it somehow feels like it’s never enough.
You always have to do more, become more, and have more in order for you to remain ‘actual’ and not be left behind. Because if you don’t, the love will be withdrawn from you.
But to be used is not the same as to be loved. And although the world calls its using and abusing ‘love’, in truth, it’s not!
Love is not hurtful, nor is it demanding. Love imposes no demands. Its opposite however, imposes an almost painful demand. Asking much, and offering little, or nothing worth having in return. Love is given freely and without conditions. Its opposite however is full of conditions.
To know love, the voice of wisdom urges you to go within. To continue to be used, mistreated, and abused, the world forces you to stay without…
Who looks outside dreams, who looks within awakes
“Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” ~ Carl Jung
Your visions—of who you are, where you come from, what you are actually worth, and where you are headed—will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes…
I have been looking inside myself—over and over again—and I have been paying attention to this inner voice that has been calling my name day and night; asking me to shut the door to the world of the senses—with all its terrors, so called giants and fearful stories—so that I can finally pay attention to the wisdom coming from deep within.
And I have. For as St. Paul said so beautifully in his letter to the Corinthians, the wisdom of this world is foolishness, and what the world perceives as greatness, in God’s sight, is nothing but foolishness. And where is this God?
Within you!
“God’s kingdom is coming, but not in a way that you will be able to see with your eyes. People will not say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ because God’s kingdom is within you.” (Luke 17:20-21)
The Kingdom of Heaven is within. And that is where God is.
To close your eyes to whatever your senses and the whole world may dictate and perceive as frightening, real and true, and find the One who has His dwelling place within you; the One who is nearer than near and far greater than all the world… that is the greatest accomplishment of all.
What greater accomplishment is there than finding The One who created the heavens and the earth? What greater accomplishment is there than finding The One who has power over all His creations?
None!
There is nothing and no one greater than the God that lives in you, as you. No greater treasure than knowing that the God you have been seeking in all the wrong places—always outside of you, never within you—has been with you all along.
Be not afraid
“Do you know where you come from? You come from the divine sanctuary. Do you not remember passing through those ecstatic spiritual stages? Since you have forgotten them now you feel bewildered and lost. You have sold your soul for a handful of dust. What a cheap bargain you have struck! Give back the dust and recognize your worth, you are not a slave, you are a king. It is for your sake that the beautiful hidden ones have descended from heaven.” ~ Rumi
Though the whole world may be screaming in terror—pushing, pulling and trying its best to keep you chained to the world of the senses and disconnected from the truth of who you are, it is vital that you go within.
In order for you to find freedom from the world, while still living in the world, you must learn to close your eyes to the world ‘out there’ and open them to the world within. For then and only then you will finally remember who you are, where you come from and where you are headed. For you, you are not a slave, you are a king. And when you lose yourself before the King, as Rumi and many other before him discovered, you will become the King…
And then and only then you will realize that “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4) There is no need to “‘ be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.’” (2 Chronicles 20:15)
