“When you align with your purpose, life becomes a beautiful experience. What once seemed dark, challenging, and painful now becomes luminous, easy, loving, and meaningful… ” ~ Luminita D. Saviuc
Align with Your Purpose
If you ask me, there’s nothing more beautiful than living in alignment with your life purpose. Nothing more precious than embracing your own authenticity, beauty, and inner power, and then sharing it all with the rest of the world…
What can be more fulfilling than doing the meaningful work you came here to do?
There is something unique, precious and incredibly valuable in each and every one of us. Many treasures that are hidden deep within the core of our being. And we can learn to access their beauty and power by following the steps I will share with you below.
13 Powerful Steps to Align with Your Purpose
1. Ask for guidance to align with your purpose.
When you want something, you ask for it. You ask for it from life, from yourself, from those people that can provide to you that which you need and desire, and most importantly, from the Invisible Force that created you and the whole universe.
Well, the same applies to living in alignment with your life purpose.
If you want to align with your life purpose, you will need to ask for clarity, for guidance, for help and assistance. You will need to ask life to help you, to guide you and to show you the path you are meant to walk upon. To give you strength, clarity, courage, wisdom, and confidence. And to reveal to you the many treasures, gifts, and talents that are hidden deep within you. Because it will.
Years ago I had no idea who I was, what I wanted to do with my life, and why in the world I was here on this planet. But as I started doing this, as I started asking life, my Soul and God to help me, to guide me and to remind me of the reason of my existence and the purpose of my life, all kind of wonderful things started to happen to me. And in a few years, I went from feeling as if the whole world was against me, to feel as if the whole world was working for me, and with me. So dare to ask.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.…” ~ Matthew 7:7-8
2. Forget about all that you have learned to align with your purpose.
Empty your mind of all past thoughts. Forget all that you have learned about life, about yourself, and about the world we live in. Forget about all the ideas you have about how life should work, or shouldn’t work.
Forget about all the beliefs you have about what is possible or impossible. Forget about all your past fears, insecurities, doubts, excuses and limitations. Forget about all your past failures and mistakes, and just be open to what is.
3. Let go of fixed plans and concepts to align with your purpose.
The mind is limited, but the Soul is not. And that is why it is so important to get out of your mind and move into your heart.
To let go of fixed plans and concepts, fears, doubt and limitations, and allow your Soul to lead the way. Because the Soul will craft your life from a place of infinite choices and possibilities – the present moment, and not a place of fear and limitations – the past, like the mind does. Taking you places you’ve never even dreamed of going, and revealing to you things you never knew were possible.
4. Expect your old life to fall apart.
Once you make a commitment to yourself to live your life from a place of truth, love, and integrity, and once you set an intention to live in alignment with your life purpose, chances are that your old life will begin to fall apart, especially if it was built on a fearful and shaky foundation.
Many of the things, beliefs, places, experiences, relationships that were not in alignment with your life purpose will fall apart. Life will “force” them all to get out of your life so that they can make room for new, better and healthier things to take their place. And when that happens, chances are that you’ll be quite uncomfortable, but that’s okay. It’s all part of this process of cleansing, renewal, and regeneration.
“There is a time for being ahead, a time for being behind; a time for being in motion, a time for being at rest; a time for being vigorous, a time for being exhausted; a time for being safe, a time for being in danger. The Master sees things as they are, without trying to control them. She lets them go their own way, and resides at the center of the circle.” ~ Lao Tzu
5. Prepare to be uncomfortable.
During these times there’s going to be quite some drama present in your life. At times created by you (consciously or unconsciously), but also by those around you. No reason to worry. It’s all happening for a good reason – your growth and evolution. But also because your life is being cleansed, renewed, regenerated and revitalized. Just get your ego out of your way and you’ll be just fine.
6. Get your ego out of the way and you will align with your purpose.
It’s very important for you to know that living in alignment with your life purpose means that you let go of control. You are no longer attached to how things should be, to how life should unfold and to how the world around you should behave. You surrender completely, allowing your Soul to lead the way, and putting your faith and trust in life.
You walk by trust and faith, not by sight. Trusting in the things that are unseen more than in those that are seen, and allowing a force bigger, more powerful and a lot wiser than you, to guide you and to lead you on a path that you might not know much about.
Because this is what living in alignment with your life purpose is all about. It means that you get your ego out of the way and you trust. You trust in things that can’t always be seen but are felt. You trust that even though your mind might not have a clue where you’re going, your heart and Soul do.
7. It’s not about money, fame, power, and recognition.
“When I chased after money, I never had enough. When I got my life on purpose and focused on giving of myself and everything that arrived into my life, then I was prosperous.” ~ Wayne Dyer
The need to make a lot of money, to be appreciated, to get recognition, to become powerful, well-known, respected, etc. should be all left behind. Don’t let your ego trick you into thinking that that’s what living on purpose it’s all about. Know that is fully aligned with your Soul’s purpose have nothing to do with fame, fortune, power, and recognition.
Living in alignment with your life purpose it’s about being of service. It’s about offering the work you have in your heart, your unique gifts and talents with the rest of the world. It’s about pouring your heart and soul into all that you do, and doing it all because it feels right, because it feels good, not because you want to get something out of it. But don’t worry, that doesn’t mean you will starve because you will not. Life will take good care of you, and for what you give, life will give back to you tenfold.
8. Welcome life’s many gifts with open arms to align with your purpose.
As you learn to live a more heart-centered life, getting your ego out of the way and allowing your Soul to guide you on the right life path, all kind of interesting things will happen to you. You will feel things that you didn’t feel before, you will know things you never knew before, and you will have all kind of experiences and interactions that might look confusing to your mind, but to your heart and Soul, they make perfect sense.
Welcome them all with open arms, and know that they are life’s gifts for you. So go where your heart wants you to go and do the things your Soul need you to do. Because they are all meant to help you live in alignment with who you truly are underneath it all. And they are all meant to help you do the beautiful and meaningful work you came here to do.
9. Maintain an attitude of gratitude to align with your purpose.
“If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough.” ~ Meister Eckhart
Express your gratitude and appreciation for every experience and every interaction life sends your way, either good or bad. Let life know that you are grateful for the many precious gifts it keeps sending your way. And know that the more you begin to appreciate the life you are currently living, the more reasons life will give you to be thankful for.
10. Keep your faith alive to align with your purpose.
“Is it so bad, then, to be misunderstood? Pythagoras was misunderstood, and Socrates, and Jesus, and Luther, and Copernicus, and Galileo, and Newton, and every pure and wise spirit that ever took flesh. To be great is to be misunderstood.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
As you walk on your life’s path, you might discover that there aren’t too many people who are going in the direction you are going. And that not too many people understand the things you do, and the person you are becoming. You might feel alone and misunderstood at times.
You might start doubting yourself and the decisions you are making. But don’t worry, that’s perfectly normal. Don’t let that discourage you. Know that the people who aren’t living in alignment with their life purpose can’t really understand those who do. Continue walking. You are doing just fine.
11. Be soft like water to align with your purpose.
Be soft like water. Do the things your heart is asking you. Travel to the places that are inwardly calling you. Trust your inner wisdom. Follow life’s natural rhythm. Share your inner light, your presence, your work and your love with everyone you come into contact with.
Let go of all your clingings and all your attachments, and just be. Be one with all that is, while at the same time detached from everything.
12. Seek to be at peace to align with your purpose.
Living in alignment with your life purpose brings with it a deep sense of inner peace and tranquility. And whenever peace is not present within you, it only means that you’ve derailed a little bit off your life path. So make sure that peace is always present within you. Seek to be at peace at all times.
Quiet your mind as often as possible. Let there be peace in your mind, your heart, and your life. The more peaceful you become, and the more silent your mind gets, the easier it becomes for you to listen to your inner voice and follow the wise advice of your heart and Soul.
13. Embrace humility to align with your purpose.
“All streams flow to the sea because it is lower than they are. Humility gives it its power.” ~ Lao Tzu
Because of all the wonderful things that will start happening to you more and more often, there will be times when your mind will try to convince you that you are better than those around you. That you are wiser, more “evolved”, and a lot more valuable than they are. Don’t believe a word.
That’s just your ego trying to create a false sense of separation between you and everyone else. Remain humble. The more you embrace humility, the louder and clearer your inner voice seems to get and the easier it becomes for you to put your trust and faith in life.
Humility is what strengthens the Soul, while pride and arrogance, weakens it. When you are deeply connected and aligned with your life purpose, you recognize yourself in all things and all people. Your heart overflows with love and compassion, both for yourself and the world around you, and all you seem to care about is to give yourself entirely to those around you.
